Plex Model Manager

Automate your Plex model administration and integrate the model administration process into your software change management processes.

Improved model management

The Plex Model Manager takes control over the model updates, extracts and makes sure the group model can only be accessed by predefined processes of the Plex Model Manager. For every process the Plex Model Manager creates the necessary backups of the group model and the local model and ensures that every development step is saved in separate backup files. This provides maximum protection for the developed code.

Traditionally, developers work in local models, which are manually extracted from the group model. The local models are regularly updated to the group model and new extracts are created from the group model. Handling local models usually involves manually copying the model file, manually creating backups and zip files and renaming the model files according to the development team’s standards.

All these manual activities are error prone and are not integrated in the change management process, nor are they logged and traceable.By using the Plex Model Manager, you get maximum control over your Plex models and their updates into the group model. The model update history allows tracing every model update and extract down to every model object showing all changes on a single object. CA Plex is a multi-platform, model-based, architected rapid application development (ARAD) tool that includes architectural and design objects known as patterns.

The goal of the Plex Model Manager is to eliminate all manual activities involved in the model management and integrate the model management into the software change management process.
